    That “oh Sh%t” moment

    Here we go…

Today, I went to get my hair done.  Now, for many girls, this is a great experience.  You get to be pampered, asked about your life, and doll’d up all by some random person who allows you to vent to them for however long you like.  What could possibly go wrong?
I’m going to tell you about one of those “oh sh%t” moments we all have in life that I experienced in the hair salon.  Now, you may be thinking, what could possibly go wrong in the hair salon? I’m here to tell you that something can indeed go wrong and that something did go terribly wrong.
A few months ago, back in November, I was home for Thanksgiving break doing all those random things you have to do when you go to college and then come back home (such as doctor’s appointments, dentists, hair stuff, nails, etc.).  Life was going swell so far.  I had just been running errands gathering up all that I could that my parents would willingly buy me before I went back to school and was “on my own” again when I walked into the hair salon to color my hair.  It has been about 5 years since I have had my hair colored all because I was so set on being a “natural” blonde. But really, who is a “natural” anything these days?
So, I walk into this nice hair salon place that my wonderfully cool mom goes to get her hair done at and I am just ready to go.  I’m ready to be pampered and relax and just enjoy the 2 hours I was about to spend at the hair salon.  After signing in, this nice lady told me to step into this room where there were those things you wear over your clothes so that hair and hair color doesn’t get on your shirt.  I walked in and saw about 4 robes hanging up, one black shirt, and one black tank top.  Looking at my white collared shirt and feeling too lazy to take it off, I assumed that this black shirt was there to go over my white shirt and then I was supposed to put on one of these robes.
    So, that’s what I did.
After getting dressed I went to sit down in the stylist’s chair where I discussed the style of color I wanted, and cut and all that sort of thing.  And so it began.  The somewhat annoying yet nice questions of “Do you have a boyfriend? How is school? What’s your major? What do you want to do with your life? Do you have siblings? etc. etc. etc. etc……” You get the point.
After about 30 minutes, all of these other salon people began walking around looking in shelves, drawers, literally searching for something that no one could quite seem to find. My sweet stylist turned and asked another lady what it was that everyone seemed to be so flustered about and searching for.  This lady turned to my stylist and said “It’s _____________, we can’t find her shirt. It’s literally missing..” My stylist then asked the lady what it looked like and if they had looked in the laundry.  She said, “it was just a plain black shirt and we can’t find it anywhere. No one has left since she got here and its not in the laundry.”
    ………………………………………….
This is when that “Oh SH%T” moment really begins to sink in as I begin putting two and two together…
If you have yet to realize, I am wearing THIS LADY’S SHIRT!
So lets just step back and imagine this for a second. I’m sitting in a salon chair. I have a mountain of tin foil all stuffed up in my hair, I can’t see much of anything because hair is all up in my face, and I have a robe on over my clothes.  Now, you may be thinking, “Morgan, why in the world did you not just tell the lady that you were wearing her shirt and take it off?”
To that I say, are you kidding? Think back to your “oh sh%t” moment and tell me that you thought rationally during that time.  If you say that you did, well you’re wrong because no one thinks rationally during this time.
So. I did the most plausible thing that I could think of during this time….
    I started to panic.
I began questioning what I was going to do. I felt like I was wearing a scarlet letter under my robe that everyone was eventually going to find out about. So, I decided I had to make a plan.
I told my stylist that I knew it was a bad time, but that I just HAD to go to the bathroom.  So, I walked into the bathroom and began frantically ripping off my robe and this lady’s shirt.  After taking it off I didn’t know what to do so I did what any of you would have done in this situation.  I put it in the trash can.
NOW before you freak out and tell me I’m a bad person, this wasn’t like a “go to the dumpster” sort of trash can, it was a “put your wet wash clothes that you dry your hands with” trash can that eventually goes to the laundry room.
I was finally free. I texted Matt (my tall dark and handsome boyfriend) and told him about what had happened and he thought it was one of the funniest things ever. And to this day I have no idea if they ever found that shirt or if the lady ever came back to that salon but as I walked in today I remembered this “oh sh%t” moment I had not to long ago and decided maybe I should tell all of you reading this about this funny incident in my life.
Moral of the story: “oh sh%t” moments will probably end up biting you in the butt, but if they don’t then remember that they are always good stories to retell for someone to maybe get a laugh out of.

    Um… Whhat?

    What am I even doing?

So, this whole blogging thing is pretty new to me…. Why would anyone want to read what I have to say? I mean, I lead a pretty interesting life (don’t get me wrong) but what makes my life worth writing down on the internet so that everyone and their mother (my boyfriend claims the phrase is “everyone and their brother” but I refuse to believe that) can read about my life? Well, I guess the answer to that is nothing really.  There really is no point to this blog.  Except that I feel like this is just something that will be fun for me to do. So if no one but my supportive friends and family read this then thats quite alright.

The reason the name of this blog is “TruelifeKMK” is because there are so many things that happen to me on a daily basis that range from hilarious to unbelievable (I’m not kidding).  So if you are reading this and want a good laugh or cry or just a friendly reminder that reality hits people who aren’t you too sometimes then stick around and read this whenever you want! (I feel like there is some subscribe thing you can do to always read this whenever you want and save it or something but I’m so new to blogging I have no idea what that even means).

One more thing, I am going to hate on some bloggers right now and I’m sorry if I strike a cord with you. I am not a huge fan of “You need to live you life this way because Jesus says to” OR “This is what I think you should do with what Jesus shows you daily” OR “My life sucks I’m depressed and need to vent” sort of thing in blogs. (Also, some of you may think that blogging is dumb anyways and you only will read this for the pure humor of getting a good laugh at another “awful” blog and for that I hope you stick around).  HOWEVER. Let me get a few things out of the bag here. I do love Jesus and will probably refer to Him or talk about Him because He’s great, and I will talk about how bad my day is when it is bad and I will refer to my wonderfully tall dark and handsome boyfriend whenever I can and maybe even have a vent sesh on a bad day via blogging but I promise that my dramatics will most likely be funny instead of annoying (at least I hope so).

So there you have it… My first blog post. Who knows if this is what you were expecting or if this is what you wanted to hear but I will leave you now with the option to continue reading my future posts or to never see this page again. Either one is up to you and until further notice it’s been real.
